JuiceBox Hero is on a mission

We’re out to transform the way we do childcare in this country. This bold vision should come as no surprise. Our founder cut her teeth in grassroots organizing, campaigning on the local, statewide and federal levels and winning more than 40 major campaigns for female candidates and women’s issues. She served two government appointments for her work. So it should come as no surprise that she sees childcare as "civic infrastructure" just like bridges, dams, roads, utilities, healthcare, education and housing. (BTW - "civic infrastructure" is a term she made up...)

What does that mean? I means that childcare aka early childhood education (and, yes, there’s a difference*) is a critical, foundational part of our society. It always has been. And, it is now more than ever: dual-income households are the norm, breadwinning women are an emerging majority and modern dads are taking on new roles at work and home.

Here’s the rub: America never built an interstate-highways-systems-worth of early childhood care and education in this country. Yikes!

So, what do we do now? We build. How do we build? We look at what is working, what is not, and what is missing.

I know what you’re thinking: grrrrreeeeaaaatttt. A long-term study that costs bajillions of dollars to tell us what we already know:

I NEED TO GET TO WORK, LIKE, NEXT WEEK. WHERE ARE MY KIDS -- MY PRECIOUS BABIES -- GOING TO GO WHEN I’M AT WORK?!

We get it. We know that we’ve got to design for the future, while providing practical solutions now. And, that’s what we do.

JuiceBox Hero provides easy access to existing childcare options (that are licensed and verified)

For the many, many parents who are seeking the right care who can’t find it, know that we are here for you, too. Our insight team works with stakeholders in government, advocacy groups, home builders and more to map childcare deserts & help build a future of high-quality, affordable childcare that serves many needs (special needs, 3rd shifts, along major traffic corridors, in opportunity zones and more).

*childcare vs. early childhood education = is someone simply, safely watching our children? Or, are they educating our early learners? There’s a big difference, and it’s especially important given most brain development happens in the first five year of life! It’s SUPER important that we invest in these critical early years! AND, these programs aren’t always available -- or accessible -- for many parents. So, you won’t see judgement or make-wrongs from JuiceBox Hero. Nuh uh. While holding a vision for high-quality, affordable early childhood education for all, we err on the side of "everyone is doing their dosh garn best". So, if you’re a mama that couldn’t get your kid into Baby Yale, we get it. We trust that you picked the best available option to hang with/love on/educate your most important person while you go to work and make it happen.
